Jan Russell

I write and edit books (from corporate histories and corporate profiles to children’s books, memoirs and anthologies), scripts (documentaries, promotional videos, animated explainers, and advertisements), magazine content (travel, people, property, medical), and online content (websites, blogs, social media).

I also develop communication campaigns, perform voiceovers, produce photoshoots, and do a little translation work on the side.

I am co-founder of Kabar Media, a company that offers publishing solutions for everything from newsletters to annual reports, as well as other bespoke publications and materials (print, digital, and film) for a variety of organisations, from corporate to government and non-government concerns. Kabar Media also publishes books, most recently the anthology The Banda Islands: Hidden Histories and Miracles of Nature (www.thebandaislands.com), and the graphic memoir Buku Kuku-Ku.

I am also co-founder of Russell and Rizky (R+R), a multidisciplinary design firm that creates visual, written, and interactive forms of communication. We are passionate about art and creative culture, creating better communication solutions using research, design, and technology.

Through Pabrik we partner with other creative studios to create and execute communication strategies and develop concepts for books, magazines, websites, branding and identity, artworks, installations, interiors, films, animations, and products.
